Memorial donation
The Hope High School Class of 1957 recently made a memorial donation to the HHS Athletics
Department in memory of classmate Steve Marlar, who passed away in January. Marlar was a three
year football letterman for the Bobcats who went on to play for the Texarkana College Bulldogs as
fullback and place kicker. HHS Principal Bill Hoglund, left, presented the donation check to HHS Head
Football Coach Phillip Turner. Hoglund said the donation will be used to directly benefit HHS student
athletes. – Hope Public Schools
