CASA Colorful 5K

TEXARKANA – CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children Serving Northeast Texas & Southwest Arkansas,’ Colorful 5K & Family Fun Run is back Saturday, April 24th starting at 8:00 am. This 3.1 mile run/walk event begins on an open field and winds through a trail system, with color stations located throughout the route. Participants will be showered with brightly colored powder turning their white shirts into a color explosion. During the run, CASA will also offer family friendly activities including a kid’s obstacle course (more details to come). Meeting place is Trinity Baptist Church/ Cross Country Trail, 3115 Trinity Boulevard, Texarkana, Arkansas.

In Texas, they serve the counties of Bowie and Cass. In Arkansas, they serve the counties of Miller, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River and Nevada.

CASA of Northeast Texas was formed in 1990 in Bowie County, Texarkana, Texas, under the direction of 5th Judicial District Judge Jack Carter. The program expanded to Cass County, Texas in 1992. In 1995, under the direction of 8th Judicial District Judge Jim Hudson, advocacy services expanded to Miller County, Texarkana, Arkansas, and then into Lafayette County. Under the direction of Judge Ted Capeheart, CASA expanded into the Arkansas counties of Little River, Howard, and Lafayette. With the guidance of Judge Duncan Culpepper, CASA expanded into Hempstead and Nevada counties.
