PRESCOTT – A chilly, overcast day didn’t stop children from coming out to the Johnson Sports Complex for the Junior Auxiliary of Nevada County’s first Brunch with the Bunny Saturday.

Youngsters and their parents packed the pavilion for brunch (doughnuts and juice), while the children colored, picked up some bunny food and had their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.

This year, all age groups hunted at the same time as there are three fields at the complex. All started at 10:30 a.m. with children racing for eggs stuffed with candy and goodies. There were no golden eggs or big prizes this year, only the fun of gathering up a portion of more than 3,000 eggs. However, hunting eggs wasn’t the only popular past time going on as children took advantage of the playground equipment at the complex to work off excess energy.
