Board nominations deadline set

Zone 3 seeking to fill an announced board vacancy in Zone 3 should be submitted to
Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart by May 17.
Dr. Hart said that letters of interest to fill the vacancy to be created by the retirement of Zone 3
Representative Margaret Moss are being accepted in his office at 117 E. Second St., Hope, Ar.,
71801. Letters of interest will be accepted until noon May 17, he said.
Moss will formally retire from the board at the May 17 meeting after declining to seek re-election
this year. No candidates filed for the position prior to the regular filing deadline, Hart said.
Under Arkansas school law, the board must fill a vacancy within 30 days of the creation of a
vacancy. Hart said the vacancy in Zone 3 will not officially occur until after the close of
early/absentee voting by which the school election is conducted this year.
