HOPE – Six Hope High School Bobcat basketball players have been accorded conference
honors with senior Travion Trey Rhodes named to the 4A All-State Basketball team.
Rhodes, at six feet, four inches tall, also played wide receiver, free safety, and quarterback for
the Bobcat football team. He was also nominated to the 7-4A Conference All Star Team and
was also named to the 7-4A All-Conference Team.
All-conference 7-4A team honors also went to Zykeis Raglon, Ka’Jamieon Love and Ammorion
Dempsey. Chelerome McFadden and La’Vario Morris were named to the 7-4A honorable
mention squad.
The Bobcats advanced to regional play in a season that was questionable from week to week
because of COVID-19 concerns. After entering the playoffs from district seeding, Hope
advanced into regional play to beat Malvern, but lost to Fountain Lake in the regional semi-final
round.
The Cats took a 7-2 record into the seeding at the conference level to beat Malvern at 4-8 but
Fountain Lake’s near-complete 12-1 season was too much experience.
Bobcat Coach Sam Bradford emphasized experience in a COVID-19 environment, noting that
Hope’s prospects were good “if we can keep everyone healthy.
