Hopson, Knight named to regional teacher cohort

HOPE – Two Hope High School teachers have been named to a special teacher cohort from
competitive applications to become High Reliability Teacher Cohort 2 trained.
HHS business/computer science teacher Sheila Hopson and HHS social studies/computer
science teacher Kathy Knight were notified of their selection by Dr. Roger Guevara, Education
Renewal Zone Director and Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Southern
Arkansas University in Magnolia.
“HRT Cohort2 was the most competitive round yet,” Dr. Guevara said.
He said the group represents an elite team of educators “with a shared vision of academic
excellence and a willingness to begin a journey of best academic practices” through the HRT
Cohort2 program.
HHS Principal Bill Hoglund said the selection was exciting news for HHS.
“Both teachers contribute to our leadership team and provide valuable input,” Hoglund said. “I
am excited to watch their growth in this endeavor. We are pleased that two Hope High School
teachers were selected in a competitive process for only 25 slots available. It says a lot about
our faculty at HHS.”
