Firestone tabbed business of the month

Congratulations to Firestone Building Products on being named the Business of the Month for May 2021.

Firestone Building Products is the largest employer in Nevada County with approximately 654 employees! Originally built by Robbin’s Floor Products in 1964, the plant was purchased by Firestone Industrial Products in 1970. At the time of purchase, Firestone manufactured automotive radiators and train brake hoses. In 1983, the plant was converted to Firestone Building Products and started the production of rubber roofing. Although the Prescott plant is commonly mistaken as a tire plant, they manufacture roofing membrane, flashing and seam tape. Originally only 142,000 square feet, Firestone has expanded over the years to a total of 710,000 square feet.

Firestone just celebrated 50 years of operations this past year! During those 50 years, Firestone has achieved numerous awards for safety performance. They have been very active in the Prescott community, including support of the local food bank, Scouts Troops, and many other community programs and events. On April 1^st, Firestone Building Products was acquired by LafargeHolcim, a step in making LafargeHolcim the global leader in building solutions.
