Peggy Spell

Mrs. Peggy Spell, age 94 of Blevins, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Saturday May 15, 2021, at her home. Peggy was born May 30, 1926 in Leicester, England to Harold and Blanche Dunkley. She was a retired administrative assistant for Kroger Foods. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years, Jewett Spell, sister and brother-in-law Joy and Ralph Searle, sister and brother-in-law Mavis and Les Shilton.

Peggy and Jewett married in Leicester, England, in 1946 when Jewett was stationed at Molesworth Airforce Base in England during WWII. Peggy came to the United States in 1946. They lived in the Beaumont, Texas area until moving and buying a farm in Blevins, Arkansas in 1967. Together they lived and loved life to the fullest. She was a Baptist and loved the Lord, and was a 50-year member of chapter #914 Order of The Eastern Star of Vidor, Texas. Peggy retired as the Executive Secretary at the Kroger Company in Hope, AR.  She enjoyed working and helping her husband on their cattle farm.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy Spell, Mary, Buna, Texas, Carol Stroud, Richard, Hope, Arkansas, Judy White, Jimmy, Blevins, Arkansas. Four grandchildren: Lisa Spell Nix, Silsbee, Texas, Brandon Spell, Tesa, Waco, Texas, Jennifer White, McCaskill, Arkansas, Justin White, wife Amanda, Nashville, Arkansas. Eleven great-grandchildren, Jewett Paul Nix, Sunee Sims, Payton Spell, Brett Spell, Beau Spell, Maci Spell, Jordan White, Kris Verge, Joseph Verge, Jagger White, Joni White. One great-great grandson Wyatt Paul Nix, and numerous nieces and nephews in England and Texas.

Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. She will be remembered for all her love, guidance and strength she provided to her family and those who knew her. She will be greatly missed and will be in their hearts forever.

The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Michelle Brown and Hospice Kindred Lauren Whatley for the special care that was provided to our mother.
