The Guernsey Volunteer Fire Department literally responded to a call “at the end of the road” Tuesday around 9:45am.  Upon arrival, it was determined a landowner was burning the remains of an old mobile home.  The fire was not out of control nor causing any damage.  The city of Hope paged out Guernsey after it was determined a traditional fire truck wouldn’t go down the road where the fire was located.  The area was located off Robinson Road past where city maintenance ends on the road;  however, the location was believed to be within the city of Hope.  Just on the other side of the fire was I-30.  The Guernsey firemen wet down the area around the fire and made sure everything was OK.  He then explained to the landowner that he would need to seek a city fire permit should he want to burn something major like the trailer in the future.  There was no damage and no injuries.
