Sara Sweat Awarded Donna Potter Scholarship

Sara Sweat of McCaskill has been named the winner of a Donna Potter Scholarship.

Sara Sweat is a High School Senior from Nashville High School graduating as Salutatorian of the Class of 2021. Sara has been very active in FFA & 4-H throughout her school years. She was the secretary of her FFA chapter for the 20-21 school year and is the President of Buckles and Banners 4-H Club. In 2020 Sara won first in State FFA Job Interview and Arkansas Farm Bureau Discussion Meet. Sara currently serves on the American Junior Simmental Association National Board. She was also 2nd high individual in the Arkansas 4-H Livestock Judging contest as well as being apart of the champion team for 2021. Sara is a very passionate young lady who plans to go into the field of genetics. She will be attending Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and plans to major in animal science this fall. Sara is also part of the 2020’s Arkansas Farm Family. She is the daughter of Chris & Denise Sweat of McCaskill and the granddaughter of Amy Sweat & David & Pat Sweat of McCaskill, and Ralph & Reba Moore of Lincoln, AR.

The scholarship is endowed in memory of Donna Potter, a long-time reporter for HopePrescott.com who passed away in 2017. HopePrescott.com owner Wendell Hoover began the scholarship in 2017.
