60 show for annual Blevins reunion

HOPE – After missing last year due to COVID-19, the alumnus of Blevins High School gathered at Hempstead Hall Saturday to resume their annual reunion.
A total of 60 former graduates registered for the event, which was down from the 2019 figure of 113. The youngest graduates at the reunion were from the class of 1979, while the oldest were from the class of 1945. The classes of 1961 and ’71 were recognized as this was the 50th and 60th anniversaries of their graduation.
Though there were fewer on hand, it didn’t stop those who showed up from having fun, catching up with one another and talking about the old days, their families, children, grandchildren and, in some cases, great-grandchildren. There was plenty of laughter as the memories flowed.
2020 was the first time since the reunion began it wasn’t held, but 2020 was an aberation with the pandemic shutting pretty much everything down. However, some kept in touch via Facebook and other social media.
