Genevieve Burke
Mrs. Genevieve Marie Olea Burke, age 58 of Prescott, Arkansas, Arkansas, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday June 8, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on March 14, 1963 to the late Gordon and June Olea. Genevieve received her BBA degree in Business from Henderson State University and was the co-owner of H and H (his and hers) farms that is a successful farming operation consisting of poultry, growing operations, land and timber management along with her husband Steve Burke, was her business and life partner for thirty-five years. Their life mission statement was faith, farm, and family. She had an outstanding work ethic and demanded nothing but the best. She devoted her life to the lord, family and farm operations that she and Steve were passing down to their three sons, however she will best be remembered as an amazing wife, momma, mother-in-law and grammy to her family.
Genevieve was employed at the Prescott Elementary school from August 2010 to June 2014 where all three of her children attended, she especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren Hallie, Jed and Jolene and was looking forward to babysitting her new grandson, Silas who was born on the day she departed. She was an excellent caregiver to her late mother-in-law, Doris Burke and her father-in-law Joe Burke who now resides in Hillcrest Nursing Home. Genevieve was without question the rock of her family and there are simply no words to describe how greatly she will be missed.
The many trips to Colorado with her family to elk hunt was one of her passions. She loved spending time outdoors at the cabin and river cabin that she and Steve built together. She was an active member of Missionary Grove Baptist Church in Prescott, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son, David Burke, sister, Virginia Olea, brother, Ritchie Hiscott and mother-in-law Doris Burke.
Genevieve is survived by her husband Steve Burke of Prescott, three sons, Derek Burke, wife Emma of Blevins, Lindsey Burke wife Shelby of Blevins, Daniel Burke wife Morgan of Prescott, four grandchildren, Hallie, Jed, Jolene and Silas Burke, two, sisters, Ginger Clover 0f Hope Jonai Baxter of Phoenix Arizona and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 12, 2021, 5:00 to 7:00pm at BRAZZEL/CORNISH 1196 Hwy 371 Prescott, Arkansas 71857
Funeral service will be 2:00pm on Sunday June 13, 2021, at BRAZZEL/Cornish Chapel with Bro. Neal Ridling and Bro. Shawn Cubbertson officiating. Burial will follow Bethel Cemetery Hwy 29 North Prescott, Arkansas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Eddie Brazzel, Director.
