PRESCOTT – Planning for the City of Prescott Fireworks Show continues and is scheduled for Thursday, July 1.

The show, weather permitting, will begin at 9 p.m. Should the weather turn inclement, the announcement to cancel will be made on the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page, according to Chamber Director Jamie Hillery.

There are some things people planning to attend need to know and/or realize. Because of construction, the parking lot closest to the main entrance of Cummings Stadium will be closed to the public. Patrons will have to use the other parking lots, including the one at the Johnson Sports Complex.

Food trucks will be on hand to provide refreshments for those attending as it could be muggy at the very least, even if it’s not raining.

There will be live music from Junction Blue, playing blues, rock and country tunes. The band will begin at 7 p.m. and, for those not wanting to risk being in a crowd because of COVID-19, it will be broadcast live on 87.9.

Patrons need to know no one will be allowed on the track before, during or after the event.

“We hope that everyone is able to come out and enjoy a great night with the community for the City of Prescott 4th of July Firework Show,” Hillery said.
