With preparations for the Hope Watermelon Festival in full swing, the Hope Civitan Club is preparing to once again sponsor the classic car show at the festival.  Member Mona Still, car show chair, brought examples of this year’s winning trophies and plaques to the club’s June 22 meeting.  The large trophies will be given for Best of Show Car, Best of Show Truck, Best of Show Paint and Best of Show Engine.  Plaques will be given to first, second and third place winners in each of 14 classes.  The trophies and plaques are sponsored this year by New Millennium Building Systems.  Several other Hope businesses have also donated funds for other aspects of the car show or door prizes to be given to entrants during the day-long event.  Entry forms, available from any member of the Hope Civitan Club, are being accepted now.
