Josh Williams Reads “Declaration of Independence” at Washington For July 4th

An annual tradition continued on July 4th at Historic Washington State Park. Josh Williams recreated a Washington tradition from the pioneer days when he read the “Declaration of Independence” from the balcony on the 2nd floor of the 1874 Courthouse. Williams has done this for several years and it is quite popular with residents and visitors alike. In addition, visitors get to add their “John Hancock” to a copy of the Declaration and get a copy to take home as well.
