Robert Hawthorne

Robert Lee Hawthorne, Sr.,72 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in Texarkana, TX. He was born November 15, 1948, in Fulton, AR to his parents Clyde Albert Hawthorne, Sr. and Mitte Lee Wheat Hawthorne.

He served his country for 15 years. He served in Korea and Vietnam.  He left the military as Staff Sergeant in 1983. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mittie Hawthorne; his son Robert “Robbie” Hawthorne, Jr.; five brothers Clyde, Hawthorne, Jr, James Hawthorne, Dave Hawthorne, Albert Lynn Hawthorne, Jeffery Hawthorne; two sisters Mary Kizer and Martha Moten.

Robert is survived by his wife, Deborah Kay Hawthorne of 30 years; four children Crystal Markcum (Sean) of Murfreesboro, AR, Angel Hawthorne (Shawn) of DeAnn, AR, Chris Carter (Wanda) of Prescott, AR, and Shelly Whitley of Prescott, AR; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four siblings Lois Wilson of Hope, AR, Nancy Adams (Raymond) of Guernsey, AR. Emma Hawthorne of Prescott, AR, and Patricia Clayton (Paul) of Blevins, AR., and brother-in-law Thomas Nichols; best friends Archie Hays of Rosston, AR, Billie Clayton of Fulton, AR, and William “Tittle” Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Graveside Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 4:00pm in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Jessie Henry of Fulton officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Homes.
