PRESCOTT – It was “build a bear” day at the Nevada County Library Tuesday morning, with children literally building their own stuffed teddy bear.

This is part of the library’s summer reading program. The morning began with Jane Purtle reading “A Visitor for Bear”, a story about the importance of having friends. After the story, Purtle gave the youngsters a quiz, with right answers rewarded with a treat.

After the “test”, it was time for the children to build their bears. The bears came with clothes and a birth certificate to be filled out.

A second build a bear program will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the library.
