PRESCOTTĀ  – As yet, no wrongful termination lawsuit has been filed against the City of Prescott.

A recent report from KTBS concerning former Prescott Assistant Police Chief Alex Gamble stated he planned on suing the city for wrongful termination. According to the report, Gamble claims he was terminated from the Prescott Police Department after arresting Sam Henry, an unregistered sex offender, because Henry is Prescott Police Chief Ann Jordan’s uncle.

A check of records in the Nevada County Circuit Clerk’s office, though, showed no suit has been filed by Gamble or his attorney. Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver said he was familiar with the report, but had no knowledge of any suit being filed. Oliver also said when Gamble was about to be terminated, he asked if he could resign instead. Oliver agreed and Gamble submitted his resignation.

Because this is a personnel matter, Oliver couldn’t go into detail about Gamble’s case, but did say other issues were involved.

Gamble could not be reached for comment.
