HCHS rading diaries at Aug. 24 meeting

HOPE – Local diaries tell us amazing things about the past residents of Hempstead County. One famous diary was the one owned by B. P. Haynes. He was a soldier in the 1st Arkansas Confederate Cavalry in the Civil War and was part of the famous Price’s Raid through Missouri in 1864. Come learn about the diary at the Hempstead County Historical Society on Tuesday evening August 24, 2021 at the Presbyterian Church in Washington, Arkansas at 7pm. Everyone is welcome. The guest speaker for the evening will be local historian, Keenan Williams.

The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
