Hope Civitan Club Welcomed 57 Vehicles To Watermelon Festival Car Show
The Hope Civitan Club welcomed 57 outstanding classic and antique cars, along with their owners and many admirers, to the 45th Annual Hope Watermelon Festival on Saturday, August 7.
Winners of the 2021 Hope Civitan Car Show received trophies in four “Best of Show” categories and plaques in 14 various classes, courtesy of presenting sponsor New Millenium Building Systems of Hope.
Tim Hampel of Benton was the winner of two large trophies for his Best of Show Car, a 1969 Chevy Camaro, which also took the trophy for Best of Show Engine.
The Best of Show Truck trophy went to Randy Stewart of Gurdon for his 1968 GMC C15. The Best of Show Paint trophy went to Jerry Stinnett of Magnolia for his 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner.
Winners in the fourteen classes of vehicles were:
Pre-1950 Car/Truck – first, Donnie and Camey Limbock of Clarksville, TX; second, Daniel Plunkett of Texas; and third, William Chambliss of Bearden.
1950-1960 Car – first, Dave and Joyce Brown of Hope; and second, Lisa Cain of Texarkana.
1950-1960 Truck – first, David Stewart of Caddo Valley; second, Joyce Banes of Nashville; and third, Mark Guest of Texarkana, TX.
1961-1972 Car – first, Tim Hampel of Benton; second, Jerry Stinnett of Magnolia; and third, LaVaughn Cook of Texarkana.
1961-1972 Truck – first, Randy Stewart of Gurdon; second, Russell Davis of Bearden; and third, Colton Jones of Bismarck.
1973-1990 Car – first, Donnie and Addison Limbock of Clarksville, TX; second, Camey Limbock of Clarksville, TX.
1973-1990 Truck – first, Lane Faulkner of Arkansas; second, Bret Jones of Bismarck; third, Joe Harris of Prescott.
1991-Present Car – first, Darin Laughard of Hope; second, Matt Reeves of Buckner; and third, Jack Anderson of Hooks, TX.
1991-Present Truck – first, Anthony Pearce of Hope; second, David Briggs of Hooks, TX; and third, Chris King of Hope.
Corvette 1953-Present – first, James Littleton of Hooks, TX; and second, Dean Marsh of Hope.
Rat Rod – first, Martin Fluegge of Marshall, TX; second, Mike Ulmer of Texarkana, TX; and third, Howard Tippitt of Hope.
Kit Car/Truck — Brian Darst of Hot Springs Village.
