Hempstead County Quorum Court

By Staff, 08/26/21 5:39 PM

The Hempstead County Quorum Court met Thursday for their regular monthly meeting.  After the roll call and approval of minutes, the JP’S moved to new business.  The Quorum Court looked at a proposal from an H.R. firm, the Joe Hanson Group of Fayetteville, which would like to conduct a salary survey for the county to determine fair and competitive salaries for county workers.  JP Ed Darling said they had tried to do such a survey themselves and it was “above my pay scale”.  He also said some entities expressed the opinion the Quorum Court committee might be biased towards some departments.  The company would also set up job descriptions.  JP James Griffin said the company would come up with 76 job descriptions.  The cost would be $28,000.  The JP’s voted to hire the firm.  The meeting then adjourned.
