Hope Lions Hear Program On Hope Beautification Committee Activities

The Hope Lions Club heard from Debbie Marsh and Steve Atchley of the Hope Beautification Committee on Monday. Atchley serves as President of the organization. He says the group’s aim is to get the town look more attractive and cleaner. Atchley talked about the flower beds downtown and the efforts to keep those up. He also talked about recent efforts to power wash many of the sidewalks.
Atchley explained how the group gives their “Yard of the Month” honor. He also says their aim is to encourage everyone to keep their yards up. Atchley said if someone isn’t keeping their yard up to city codes, you can contact a member of the Beautification Committee and they’ll contact the city’s code enforcement officer.
Atchley talked about the “welcome to Hope” signs and their plans to place some more at other locations.
Marsh and Atchley talked about the Christmas decorations the organization puts up downtown. Both said the Beautification Committee hopes to add to those in the future.
