Prescott Woman Competes In Senior Olympics

A group of ladies including one from Prescott have recently competed in basketball in the Senior Olympics.  Julia McLelland of Prescott, shown third from right, has been participating in basketball with a team from Hot Springs and Central Arkansas.  The photo is from Oklahoma City where they participated in the Oklahoma Qualifying Tournament.  The team is known as the “Arkansas Diamonds”.

McLelland has been active with the team for ten years and got involved due to her history in playing basketball at Henderson State University during her college years.  She encourages any ladies in the area who are 50 and up who would like to know more about the Senior Olympics to contact her.

McLelland said the team will compete in Conway next month and plant to compete at the national tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in May.
