Bright Watermelons Rank High At Republic, Missouri Pumpkin Daze

Two members of the Bright Family recently entered watermelons in the watermelon weigh-off in Republic, Missouri for the annual Republican Pumpkin Daze.  The melons were grown in the Bright watermelon patch in Hempstead County.  Barbara Bright Jones placed second with at 158.4 pound melon.  Lloyd Bright took fourth place with a 156.4 pound melon which was grown from an offspring of Jason Bright’s world-record melon.
