PRESCOTT – For the second time today, a log truck took out power lines in Prescott.

The second one occurred a little after 3 p.m. Friday when a logger with Tater Chip Logging turned onto Vine Street by Gilbert’s Lumber and his load caught in the low-hanging power lines. Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver said this one took out six utility poles. It was first thought the log truck this morning took out three poles, but it turns out, seven poles were damaged in the initial incident.

The truck driver was required to remain in place until crews could remove the power lines, at which time the Prescott Police Department was going to require him to back up down Vine and turn onto Second Street South and head to Hwy. 371.

So far, the amount of damage to the power lines, utility poles and internet service is unknown. No one was injured in either incident.
