Chamber doing Giving Tree for holidays

PRESCOTT – This year, the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce is doing something a bit different.

Instead of doing an Angel Tree where parents tell what their school-age children want for Christmas, the Chamber will be doing a Giving Tree. The difference is simple, nobody gets to ask for anything specific for the holiday. Instead, those selected will receive clothes and other essentials for the holidays.

Chamber Director Jamie Hillery said 25 families will be picked, if more apply, their names and information will be given to other organizations looking to help during the Christmas season. Those interested in participating must register in person at the Chamber office from Nov. 1-5 at 125 E. Main.

Those wanting to help the families picked also need to visit the Chamber from Nov. 15-23 and return the gifts no later than Dec. 2. Those helping can pick a tag, see what’s needed, and, if they choose, can purchase a toy or other gift item for the child/children picked
