PRESCOTT – Trick or Treat on Elm Street saw 2,127 people visit for free candy, and to show off their Halloween costumes Thursday evening.

There was a problem with the wind, which was high enough at times to blow down the barricade in the middle of the street guiding people along from vendor to vendor. Vendors also had problems getting set up as their tablecloths were caught by the wind and had to be anchored down.

None of that mattered when the clock hit 5 and children of all ages were allowed to start gathering candy and treats from more than 30 vendors. The line stretched from Elm to Main and around Farmer’s Bank and didn’t let up until the event ended at 7 o’clock.

Ghostbusters was a popular theme this year, as were dinosaurs. Tom Brady made an appearance as did Dak Prescott from the NFL. There were several superheros, mostly versions of Spider-man, but Capt. Marvel was also on hand in the event there was trouble. Trouble wouldn’t have been an issue as there were several officers on hand, carrying their striped-clad prisoners to jail.

Everybody had fun, regardless of the wind and cooler temperatures.
