Scouts haunt Fair Park for Halloween

HOPE -Fair Park was the place to be for Halloween in Hope last Friday night. Members of the Boy Scouts haunted the park with the help of plenty of other volunteers.
The evil clowns are the Hope Police Department volunteers. They were great. Buzz Killyear with the chain saw made folks scream.
Thanks to Ed Flagg for setting up the Scout Scarecrow Area. County Clerk Karen Smith was in charge of getting Scouts contacted and there. We only had
two days to get ready and Ed and Karen did a super job doing a fast organizing for the event. Laurie Mathis did the face painting. We want her back for next year !! The
kids loved that. Thanks also to Ed for buying pizza and providing drinks. The total length of the Drive Through was 3 and 1/2 hours plus setting up and taking down. Ed estimated between 4000 and 5000 people drove through. It was hard to count because the vehicles were loaded with folks. Folks were lined up all the way to Highway 67 with 90 minute waits.
Thanks to Riley, Makenzi and D’Aunna Golden; Drake Mathis, Mary and Melody Martinez for working the whole time. They had a lot of fun too .
