Peggy Reece

Peggy Jean Reece, age 63 of Hope, Arkansas, gained her angel wings Friday, November 5, 2021 at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana. Peggy was born in Hope, AR, November 1, 1958 to Howard H. and Wilma Fay Hartsfield Reece. She was a lifelong member of Shover Springs Baptist Church. Her life’s passion was Appaloosa horses. She raised and showed them for many years, all over the country. She had 3 special heart horses: Sancho, Nugget Britepearl, and Gemsfinder. She also raised Boxer dogs for many years. Peggy was a wonderful cook and was famous for her cinnamon rolls and homemade bread. Peggy was preceded in death by her dad, Howard H. Reece and the love of her life, Richard Sutton.

She is survived by her mother, Wilma Fay Hartsfield Reece; sister, Linda Kay Lively and husband, David; niece, Rainna Kay Ghormley, husband Shorty; nephew, David A. Lively II; great-nieces, Karissa McGuire and Haylee Ghormley; great-nephews, Trent McGuire and Levin McGuire; best friend, Rena England; fellow members of Shover Springs Baptist Church; and a host of friends and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Sunday, November 14th at 2:00 pm at Shover Springs Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the: Arkansas Appaloosa Horse Club, to establish an award in Peggy’s memory to: Rena England, 162 Nevada 272, Prescott, AR 71857. Or contributions may also be made to Shover Springs Baptist Church, 110 Hempstead 54, Hope, AR 71801.
