Hempstead County Veteran’s Day Program
The annual Hempstead County Veterans Day Program was held at Hempstead Hall on Thursday. The event is a joint effort between the Hope Kiwanis, Noon Lions, Rotary, Evening Lions, and Civitan Clubs. Bob Willis chairs the event. A good crowd was on hand to enjoy fish and chicken prepared by the Hope Noon Lions and served by the Hope High ROTC cadets. After the posting of the colors by the ROTC, Arnetta Bradford sang the National Anthem. After the veterans were recognized by branch of service and the Gold Star Families recognized, the crowd heard from Huck Plyler and his care packages for active military personnel. Paul Henley introduced the speaker, Richard Green from the Hot Springs area.
