PRESCOTT – It’s quarterfinal time in the AAA state playoffs, and the last home game for the Curley Wolves.

Prescott will host Newport Friday night at 7. The Wolves demolished the Greyhounds in the season opener at War Memorial, 56-6. Last week, the Wolves, playing without six starters, faced the Bismarck Lions for the second time, pulling off a 28-14 win. Playing a team twice is never easy.

In other quarterfinal action, Hoxie will host McGehee; Centerpoint will entertain Harding Academy and Booneville will play Glen Rose.

To reach the quarters, Hoxie blanked Cedarville, 48-0; McGehee dumped Melbourne, 68-28, Prescott edged Bismarck, 28-14; and Newport slipped past Paris, 28-17, in the upper part of the bracket. The lower portion saw Centerpoint escape Charleston, 28-23; Harding Academy whip Rison, 48-20; Booneville shut out Manilla, 42-0; and Glen Rose sent Camden Harmony Grove packing,28-7.

This being playoff time, it’s win or go home. A second win over Newport Friday night will mean Prescott will be on the road Dec. 3 playing at either Hoxie or McGehee.
