The 72nd annual Hope Lions Club Auction is set for this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Hope’s Fair Park Coliseum.   The annual event has been held since 1950 and raises money for Christmas baskets for needy Hempstead County residents.   The auction will feature a concession stand with homemade food prepared and served by the Hope Evening Lions.  The Evening Lions are famous for their homemade chicken and dumplings as well as their homemade desserts.  A big variety of sandwiches, soups, and desserts will be for sale each evening.  All the money raised by the Evening Lions goes to their community projects.        The auction will be heard live on KHOA-LP 107.9FM with the radio signal streamed live at myhope1079.com.   SWARKToday.com will stream a video “warm up show” Wednesday starting at 6pm.    Bidders who cannot attend can follow the auction on radio and online and phone their bids in at 777-5229.    Hundreds of local businesses will donate items for the auction.  If you have a business and have not been contacted, you may contact any Lion to donate.
