Ruby Askew

Ruby Jean Askew,86, of Prescott passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, in Prescott.

Ruby was born August 19, 1935, in Provo, AR to Allie and Ruby Batey McWhorter. Mrs. Askew was a retired beautician and member of the Union Baptist Church since 1979. She loved Gospel music and reading the Bible.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Askew; mother and father; a son Donald Dwight; two daughters Deborah Jean Askew and Cheryle Roxann Cornelius.

Survivors include son David Askew (Carol) of Prescott; a brother Jack McWhorter (Judith); 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 12-1pm at Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw.  Funeral services will follow with Bro. Joe Brown and Bro. John Nation officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
