Historic Mt. Moriah Cemetery To Get Marker

Mt. Moriah Cemetery on Highway 29 North in Hope, Arkansas finally will get a marker for the Cemetery to identify its location. The Cemetery is located in Hempstead County between Hope and Blevins, Arkansas.
In the Fall of 1941 many graves were transferred from Washington, Arkansas Proving Grounds area to Mt. Moriah Cemetery’s present location. The Cemetery’s land was sold to a select group of Mt. Moriah Church’s Trustees.
Mt. Moriah Cemetery was originally affiliated with the Mt. Moriah’s Church which was directly across the street until sometime after the early 1970s. However, the Church is now closed due to a combination of no full time Pastor and lack of  parishioners’ attendance.
Nevertheless, the upkeep of this fine Cemetery has been maintained by dedicated family members with “loved ones” and friends buried there since the 1940s. It is currently being cared for by Mt. Moriah Cemetery Committee members.
Therefore, the Mt. Moriah Cemetery Committee wants to SALUTE ALL those faithful family members for their donations in making this marker a reality.
CONGRATULATIONS MT. MORIAH CEMETERY!!! We honor you.
