Kiwanis chili lunch hit the spot

PRESCOTT – It was chili time on a warm day for the Prescott Kiwanis Club’s annual Chili Lunch.

With 15 pots of chili, hungry patrons had no trouble getting filled up. There was deer chili, chicken chili, beef chili, both with and without beans. Club members worked inside the First United Methodist Church filling orders, which were taken to the waiting  customers outside. This year’s lunch was a drive-through event, though several members said it could have been held indoors. Maybe next year.

Along with the chili, those who bought tickets got, water, either cornbread or crackers and their choice of cookies or a brownie.

Things started slow, but picked up as the clock drew closer to noon, keeping the Kiwanians busy. Proceeds from the event will be used to fun club activities.
