Our friend Ronald Kidd of the Hope Parks Department recently brought us a very interesting artifact recently.  According to Kidd, when the parks department was cutting up a recently downed tree, they discovered an electrical hookup complete with porcelain insulators.  Kidd said they showed the artifact to Hope Water & Light employees who estimated the equipment dated back to the 1930’s.  Kidd said they also said it was not unusual at that time to place electrical lines on trees.  He notes they still have some more tree to cut up and they’ll be looking for more artifacts such as this.
