County, city under burn ban

PRESCOTT – Nevada County Judge Mark Glass has placed Nevada County under a burn ban until further notice.

He said, while it’s still wet, the high winds dry out the pine needles making them a fire hazard. Glass pointed out the forecast is calling for substantial rain Monday through Wednesday and the ban may be lifted  after the weekend.

Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver said the city is also under a burn ban. Anytime the county judge places the county under a burn ban, the city is automatically included
