Weekend shootings under investigation
CROSSROADS/FULTON – The Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two separate shootings from this past weekend.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Highway 73 west about 4:20 am Saturday. Officers found 29 year old Conner Pope suffering from a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to LSU in Shreveport where he is in guarded condition. Pope has a rural Mineral Springs address.
The Sheriff’s Department also responded to a report of shots fired Sunday at a car show at the McNab City Park. Several cars were hit. One person was shot in the foot and taken to St. Micheals by private vehicle for treatment.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
