The Hope Lions on Monday heard a program on the Hope Bands program.  Director of Bands Christian Davis noted the bands have competed in marching competitions in Bryant, Pottsville, and Paragould this year.  In Bryant the band was honored for percussion as well as the color guard.  In Pottsville the band ranked 4th overall.  In Paragould the band got “Superior Division” for everything and won 10th place overall.  Mr. Davis said they were not only competing against Arkansas bands but also some Tennessee and Texas bands.  The band placed 10th in state this year in the state competition.  Altogether, the band received 16 trophies this year.  The band will graduate about 15 seniors and will gain 55 new students next year.  Mr. Davis said they are overhauling the band culture next year.  The band will march about 125 students and use 99 for competition.  Overall, the band will have about 400 students next year.

Joining Mr. Davis was Hope Band Booster President Julie Russell.  The program was presented by Lion Steve Atchley.
