Two Fourth Graders at Clinton Primary Sworn in as “Mayor”

Congratulations to Mr. Travell Green’s new “Green City” mayors! Kristiona Carr and Devon Monk were recently voted in by their respective fourth grade classes as the City Mayor for each class. The two classes had been learning about government, elections, and civil service. Students in each class nominated candidates and then voted for their chosen representative. Each “Mayor” was sworn in by Hope Vice-Mayor Kiffinea Talley. Prior to each swearing in, Ms. Delgado read an excerpt from the poem “Don’t Quit” by Edgar A Guest.
