Karen Smith Gives Kiwanis Club Program On Scouts
Long-time Scout Leader Karen Smith spoke to the Hope Kiwanis Club recently. She gave a program on scouting. BSA offers programs for boys and girls aged 11 to 18. The scouts meet every Tuesday from 7pm to 7:30pm in the Scout Center beside Huckabee Lake in Fair Park.
Currently the troop has two Eagle Scouts this year, Hunter Mathis and Riley Golden. There are 3 girls working towards Eagle. There are 6 boys and 6 girls in the troop.
The scouts attend Summer Camp at Camp Kinsey in South Louisiana and Buffalo White River in Mach. They have a campout every month from February to October.

The club presented Smith with a check to help with the Scouting program locally at the end of the meeting.
