Herbert W. Fore

Herbert W. Fore passed away December 20, 2022 at the age of 97.  Herbert was born June 23, 1925 at home in the IrmaArkansas community between Willisville and Rosston.  He was the oldest son of Fred Fore and Margaret Sutton Fore.  He was preceded in death by siblings Helen Fore Mitchell, Elsie Fore Crank, Gene Fore, Gary Fore and Jerry Fore.

Herbert served in the U.S. Navy from 9/9/1943 to 12/24/1946. He crewed an amphibious landing craft and was involved in eight invasions in the Asia Pacific theater of World War II.

Herbert returned home and married Audrey Martin Fore on March 5, 1949. They settled on the family farm and raised three sons…Bill, Fred and Stephen.  Herbert worked for Berry Petroleum, Texas Eastern and on the family farm.  Audrey preceded Herbert in death on February 25, 2000.

Herbert was a deacon at Whites Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and a 32nd degree Freemason.

Herbert is succeeded by son Bill Fore and GeorgAnneMcCardell Fore, son Fred Fore and Elaine Echols Fore and son Stephen Fore and Jane Moore Fore. His grandchildren are Doug Fore, Lauren Fore Bowles, Hank Fore, Kate Fore Rash, Josie Fore Bowie, Justin Fore, Emily Fore Kubecka and Jacob Fore.  Herb has fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildern.

Visitation will be at A. O. Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, Arkansas on December 28 from 11 a.m. to        1 p.m.  Funeral Services will be 1P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps. Officiating will be Bro. Jerry Evans, under direction of Smith Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery.
