Spelling bee winners named
HOPE – Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative hosted the Hempstead County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 11. Districts competing were Garrett Memorial, Spring Hill and Hope.
The winners were: 1st place, 8th grader Ramsey Beck from Hope Academy of Public Service who will move on to the State Spelling Bee in March. The 2nd place winner was Will Mortiz, a 6th grader at Garrett Memorial Christian School who will serve as an alternate.
Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative provides services to 9 districts in southwest Arkansas.
