Hope Country Club Welcomes New Members
The Hope Country Club, home to a challenging 18-hole golf course just south of Hope, Arkansas, is ready to welcome new members to its fellowship of friends. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun of regular golf games on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday; and the HCC Golf Association hosts scrambles every Thursday at 5:30 p.m., in season. Begun in the 1930’s as a nine-hole course, HCC added a second nine in the early 1990’s. Features include a driving range, a stocked lake for fishing, and a recently re-decorated clubhouse which includes a ballroom, restaurant and bar — all available for party and wedding rentals.
Rental carts and cart sheds are available. Tournaments — both one-day and two-day events — include four-ball and scrambles during the year for both one-person and two-person teams. Social events related to holidays or seasons, as well as to tournaments, are often scheduled for the clubhouse. Events have included ladies’ shopping nights, fish fries, crawfish boils, grilled steak and chicken meals, and other events for the entire family. HCC membership categories are reasonably priced. A social membership is only $25 per month; full membership for in-county (Hempstead) residents is $75 per month; and for out-of-county residents, the membership is only $50 per month. Golfers who bring their own carts are not charged a trail fee. All rates are for the 12 months after joining the Hope Country Club. For more information, contact Jerry Pruden, secretary-treasurer of the HCC Board of Directors, at 870-703-3099. Pruden said the Board’s invitation is a hearty, “Come play with us!”
