Hillery outlines Easter plans

PRESCOTT – Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, spoke to the Prescott Rotary Club, Tuesday, about her plans for the upcoming Chamber Easter Egg Hunt.

This year, she said, the hung will be at the Prescott City Park on April 8. The Prescott Parks and Recreation Department, Prescott Police Department and Prescott High School cheerleaders will all be involved. The PPD will cook hot dogs for the children, while the parks department will have prizes for the egg hunt winners. The cheerleaders will be on hand to do face painting. However, she added, the idea is to get all civic club in the area involved, possibly to host some kind of activity. The Chamber, she said, most likely has supplies for whatever activity is planned.

“I’d like to have different stations for the kids,” she said, “and make this a bigger and better event.” To do this, she added, more people need to be brought into assist. She asked what kind of event Rotary would like to host, after the club agreed to help. Members opted for a bean bag toss, with Dr. Mike Young saying he’d volunteer the artist in his family to paint a bunny rabbit with an open mouth for the toss. The club members also suggested handing out cotton candy and possibly giving Easter candy as a prize for winners.
