Kiwanis Club Hears From Akili Moses Israel of UAHT

The Hope Kiwanis Club recently heard from Akili Moses Israel, Director of Industry Outreach and Community Education/Kids’ College at UAHT.  She talked about the services they offer for employers and how she helps the area have a viable workforce.  Israel talked about the “Career Caravan” for youngsters and career exploration working with the public schools, SADA, and the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation.  She also discussed “Bobcat Works” in conjunction with the EDC.  She also talked about “Camp Save A Life” and Career Exploration Camps.  She reminded the Kiwanians of the upcoming “BBB” event coming up March 9th at Hempstead Hall to help benefit Kid’s Kollege.  Israel also talked about the truck driving training and forklift training offered by UAHT.
