J.R. Wilson Named New Hope City Manager
Assistant Hope City Manager and Police Chief J.R. Wilson was hired by the Hope City Board Tuesday night as City Manager. Wilson has served as Interim City Manager for the past two months after Catherine Cook retired.
According to Mayor Don Still there were about 30 people who applied for the job. The city had whittled that number down to three finalists and the Hope City Board interviewed them via Zoom Tuesday night in an executive session. Following the interviews the City Board convened in open session and unanimously voted to hire Wilson.
Mayor Still said Wilson is a “good hire for Hope…he loves the city of Hope and it’s going to be a good ride”.
Our congratulations go to J.R. Wilson on his new job as City Manager! We have enjoyed working with him in various capacities for over ten years and we know he will have a fruitful tenure as Hope City Manager!
