PRESCOTT – With spring break over, area children have headed back to school this week.

However, Curry’s Community Ministry Outreach held a “back to school” bash for youngsters Saturday afternoon. They were given the choice of eating hamburgers, hot dogs or both, along with chips and a variety of flavored pickles. While waiting for the game truck to arrive, they were also lectured on the dangers of vaping, underage drinking and drugs. The children were asked to participate and name the dangers to the aforementioned things and learned how dangerous vaping really is and the health risks that go along with it. They discussed the negative side of underage drinking, including how others could be harmed when someone is drunk or buzzed.

They were told such habits begin to form in elementary school for some, and the best thing to do is avoid them because it’s not the cool thing to do, regardless of what other say.

When the game truck arrived, the children flooded outside to spend the rest of the afternoon playing different games. The truck has five stations inside and two outside, along with a cornhole game and a giant connect four game.
