Hempstead County Republican Committee Visits the Capitol

Several members of the Hempstead County Republican Committee took a trip to the Arkansas
State Capitol in March.
The tour of the capitol began with a visit to the Treasury vault and an opportunity to hold over
half a million dollars in cash! Next was a visit to the office of Senator Steve Crowell and the
Senate Chamber. Representative Danny Watson met with the group for lunch and gave them a
tour of his office.
After lunch, we were able to sit in the balconies and observe the House and Senate in session as
they debated and voted on several issues. The group was even recognized by both the House
members and Senate members.
The Arkansas State Capitol is truly welcoming to its citizens. There’s so much beauty and
history to experience from the marble stairs and columns to the artwork, chandeliers, and
memorials to the Arkansas heroes lost in wars. Everyone needs to visit our state capitol at least
once!
A special “Thank You” to Representative Danny Watson and Senator Crowell for their
hospitality during our visit.
The next Hempstead County Republican Committee meeting will be April 20th
at the Amigo Juan Banquet room at 7:00 pm. It is open to the public and you are invited to attend.
