First “Walk in the Name of Love” Draws Good Crowd to Fair Park

The “Walk in the Name of Love” was held Saturday at Hope’s Fair Park.  The event began with a balloon lift-off.   Magigor Love stated she had hoped the weather would be good and the rain held off.

A prayer was said, balloons were released and the participants were off to an eager start.  High school cheerleaders were there to offer encouragement. An ambulance rode behind and a gator in front showed the way. The event was a 5 K – walk/run held in honor of the late April Love.
